Jessica Becker to usher in a new era at one of the Valley’s oldest behavioral health facilities.
South Texas Health System Behavioral, the first behavioral health facility with private inpatient treatment in the Rio Grande Valley, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Becker as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 27, 2022. In her role, Becker is responsible for leading the facility’s staff in delivering quality, compassionate care to behavioral patients in the Rio Grande Valley, as well as its surrounding areas.
“I am very excited to work with the amazing team at STHS Behavioral and the Rio Grande Valley Community, as we strive to provide a safe place for people who need mental health support,” says Becker. “I am passionate about breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health issues and I have been very impressed with how unified the Rio Grande Valley Community Leaders and Community Partners are with knocking down barriers to people getting the help they need. I look forward to the opportunity to strengthen our position in the community and our expand services.”
The facility, which has been in operation for more than 30 years, offers behavioral health services tailored to children, adolescents, and adults. With 134 beds, South Texas Health System Behavioral is the largest inpatient program in South Texas. Treatment programs are designed to treat a wide range of behavioral health conditions and addictive disorders. Staff members work across a multi-disciplinary team to develop and deliver individualized treatment plans to lead patients on the path to recovery.

Prior to joining South Texas Health System Behavioral, Becker served as the Chief Operations Officer for Kingwood Pines Hospital for UHS in Kingwood Texas, where she was also participating in the COO-in-training program, she oversaw many projects geared towards improving patient safety and experience. Before that, she was the Chief Executive Officer at Assurance Health in Wilmington and Cincinnati, Ohio, where she oversaw two facilities that provided inpatient psychiatric services to senior adults. Becker managed to keep both facilities in good standing with CMS and Joint Commission.
Becker earned her master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospital Administration from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pierce College in Philadelphia.
